Advantage analysis

1.The reason is air disturbance

The rapid outflow of air in the fan pushes the air outside the fan shell and causes the air to rotate. The rotating air flow will cause interference at the tip of the blade, which reduces the diameter range of the air flow delivered by the fan blade, resulting in a reduction of the air flow delivered. Add a bell mouth for the fan to let the air flow out directly along the wall of the bell mouth, prevent the air flow from being blocked by the external air, ensure its smooth output. The 7° slope is the best. The greater the opening Angle of the bell, the flow will be separated from the wall of the bell, forming turbulence. The standard length of the bell mouth is 1 to 1.5 times the diameter of the blade. Extending the horn can improve performance in some ways, but it can also make the fan more vulnerable to rain, snow or wind damage.

2. The use of trumpet in winter ventilation is not the best choice:

When selecting smaller fans for winter ventilation, adding a cone is not the best choice. Instead, add a wind diverter to protect the fan from strong winds that decrease its delivery. One downside to using discharge cones is increased maintenance from weather damage. It is not uncommon to see sections missing from multi-piece cones after heavy snowfall or strong winds. The missing parts will decrease the benefits of using a cone.

3. Precautions for installing fan with flared mouth:

When installing fans with cones, be sure and allow for the increased center spacing. The flair of the cone doesn’t permit the fans to be mounted as close together. Also, be aware of the extra bracing required on a building end wall when installing a bank of tunnel fans. Ice and snow can build up on the cones putting additional stress on the end wall.
